The ELACIN DuoCom is worn in one ear. A cable is carried behind the ear, hardly noticeable, and is less vulnerable because of this.
By the acoustic closed circuit between transducer and the auditory duct (ear drum) the noise is shut off. Both the information to be received and the to be transmitted are free from environmental noise because of this.
The walkie-talkie can remain attached ‘to the belt’ during a call. Responding to a call is done by a Push-To-Talk button, which may be attached to one’s clothes elsewhere, within easy reach.
The other ear is provided with an ear-piece in which an acoustic filter is placed, fine tuned to the environmental noise. Through this ear the communication with the immediate environment is secured.
